Oh no! The 10th of June came and went, and you didn’t complete the required continuing education hours. Your license will become inactive at 12:01AM 7/1/22. What do you do next? We’re here to help!
First, you must make sure to renew your license even if you did not complete the CE requirement last year. Neglecting to renew your license by 11:59 pm on Thursday, 30 June 2022 will cause your license to expire. Should your license expire, you will have to cease providing brokerage services.
To renew, log into your record on NCREC.gov (remember, NC Real Estate Commission Rule 58A .0503 requires that all license renewals be completed online only. In-person and phone renewals will not be accepted).
Now that you have completed and submitted your online renewal form and $45.00 payment to the NCREC, what is the next step? How do you now activate your renewed license if you are missing some (or all) of your required CE hours?
In accordance with NC Real Estate Commission Rule 58A .1703, the process to reactivate your broker license from an inactive status is as follows:
If a broker’s license has been inactive for less than 2 years and there is a CE deficiency, complete the current year’s GenUp course and 1 elective, then take either 1 or 2 more elective courses to make up the number of hours not taken in the previous license year (16 hour maximum). Then submit form 2.08.
Completely Missed CE Last Year
Did you not complete any CE last year? This means that you will need to take one Update Course, and three Elective CE Courses.
Renew your license through NCREC.gov by 11:59 pm on Thursday, 30 June 2022.
Click here to enroll in our Live and/or Self Paced CE Classes.
Successfully complete all four CE courses and receive your course completion certificates directly from us.
File Form 2.08 to activate your NC Real Estate License.
