Starting January 1, 2025, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires all members to complete two hours of fair housing training every three years.Â

This aligns with the existing triennial Code of Ethics training cycle, with the current cycle running from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027. REALTORS® must complete Ethics AND Fair Housing Training every three years.
To help you meet this new requirement, Skyline School offers two new comprehensive courses:
This flexible online course allows you to learn at your own pace, fitting seamlessly into your busy schedule. Designed to empower real estate professionals, it covers:
Historical Insights: Understand the origins and necessity of fair housing laws through a detailed exploration of housing discrimination history and its lasting impact.
Protected Characteristics: Identify personal characteristics safeguarded under federal law, including race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, and disability.
Marketing Practices: Learn best practices for fair housing marketing to avoid perpetuating stereotypes and discrimination.
Consumer Choice and Fairness: Recognize the importance of allowing consumers to choose their community without assumptions based on stereotypes.
This course is approved for 4 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC). Per NCREC rules, the course will expire 30 days after purchase or on June 10, whichever is sooner.Â
Engage in real-time instruction with our live online sessions, providing an interactive learning experience from the comfort of your home or office. This course covers the same comprehensive topics as the self-paced version, ensuring you gain a deep understanding of fair housing practices.
Upcoming sessions include:
April 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM
April 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM
This course is also approved for 4 hours of CE credit by the NCREC.Â

Important Considerations
Similar to the Code of Ethics training, NAR does not pre-approve specific courses for the fair housing requirement. Acceptance of our courses for this purpose is at the discretion of each local REALTOR® association. While our courses meet all of the required Course Learning Objectives outlined by the NAR for this training, we recommend confirming with your local board to ensure our courses meet their criteria before enrolling. However, our courses are pre-approved for CE credit with the NCREC, offering added value by allowing you to satisfy both requirements simultaneously.
By enrolling in "Housing Harmony: Navigating Diversity in Real Estate," you not only work towards fulfilling the NAR's fair housing training mandate but also contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable real estate industry. Enhance your professional competence and demonstrate your commitment to fair housing principles by signing up today.
Please verify course acceptance with your local REALTOR® association before enrolling if you intend to use the course to satisfy the NAR fair housing training requirement.
