The housing market is anticipated to continue to be hot in 2022, with many of the same dynamics that propelled it to record heights this year continuing in place. There can be only one Number One – and Zillow predicts Tampa to be it, with a series of relatively affordable and fast-growing Sun Belt markets following closely behind.

Why is North Carolina so hot?

A strong anticipated house value growth, excellent economic fundamentals including high job growth, fast-moving inventory and plenty of potential buyers are what propelled Charlotte and Raleigh to the top of this year's list. These North Carolina markets have historically been resistant to rising mortgage rates and a weakening stock market, two potential threats to this year's housing market.
